Muscovy Duck Control
Muscovy ducks are an invasive species of duck and their inhabitance is damaging both environmentally and biologically, causing erosion to levies and banks as well as high levels of ammonia, killing off ground cover and even trees in some cases.
High populations producing large amounts of fecal matter creates an environment of Salmonella, E coli, Campylobacter, Avian Influenza, Psittacosis and Avian Cholera and a host of parasites and bacterias.
Exposure to this type of environment doesn’t always do its damage immediately. Sometimes it can take up to years for these conditions to manifest into serious problems.
Muscovy ducks are not isolated to community retention lakes. They reside in city and county parks as well as industrial ponds and lakes, farm lakes and bayous. Uncontrolled, these locations become breeding hubs for expansion. Slowly spreading and infecting water way after water way, community after community, contaminating ecosystems as well as choking out native waterfowl.
Not only are they destructive to the environment and create a bio hazard to humans, but they cost us a lot of money for power washing, resurfacing community swimming pools and cause damage to expensive landscaping in our communities.
Muscovy ducks can also spread disease to native waterfowl as well. Even more reason to control their populations.
Statewide Animal Control is known for quickly getting these situations under control safely, humanely and lawfully!
For your safety, security and peace of mind Statewide Animal Control is fully insured and also carries a TWIC card for high security areas.
